Rich Lavin
Founder & CEO
Rich is the Founder & CEO of William Gabriel Capital, a Family Office dedicated to building & executing the vision for the future of the firm. Prior to William Gabriel Capital, Rich built a wealth of experience in corporate leadership as President & CEO of Commercial Vehicle Group, a leading global supplier of a full range of commercial vehicle cab-related systems, & 28 years at Caterpillar Inc. spanning a variety of global roles: Group President of Construction Industries & Growth Markets (a $20B segment), Vice President of Human Services, Vice President of Asia Pacific Operations, Chairman of Shin Caterpillar Mitsubishi, & multiple senior positions in product management, commercial operations, labor relations & legal affairs. While at Caterpillar, Rich managed & had accountability for several large end-to-end businesses, which included closely working with Caterpillar’s extensive global dealer network. During his career, Rich & his family were stationed, at various times, in Hong Kong, India, Japan, & China. Rich earned his B.A. from Western Illinois University, where he was recognized as Alumnus of the Year in 2014, his J.D. from Creighton University, & his LL.M (Tax) from Georgetown University. Rich & his wife, Colleen, have been happily married for 42 years & are the proud parents of eight children & the proud grandparents of fourteen grandchildren. Rich currently serves on the board of Allison Transmissions, Inc., & is the Chairman of the Board of ITT, Inc., & he previously served on the board of USG Corporation.
Brian Lavin
Portfolio Manager
Brian manages the financial performance of WGC’s portfolio and investable assets. Brian also carries responsibility for prospecting potential investments in new markets in line with WGC’s stated goals and objectives. Prior to William Gabriel, Brian developed his financial skills in wealth management at Merrill Lynch, catering to Fortune 500 companies and executives and advising on corporate retirement and long-term incentive plans. Brian further developed his financial management expertise while working as the Business Development Director for Bradley University Athletics, a Division I Program where he was quickly selected to the advisory committee to the VP of Intercollegiate Athletics. Brian received his B.S. (History) from Bradley University, and his MBA (Marketing, Brand Management) from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. Brian also completed a Mergers and Acquisitions program at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
John Lavin
Managing Director
In more than eight years at Lincoln International, John has garnered a deep understanding of the complexity associated with privately owned business transactions and leverages industry expertise and global relationships to achieve optimal outcomes for his clients. He has executed transactions across multiple industry verticals, including Healthcare, Business Services, Industrials, Energy, Power & Infrastructure, and Consumer, providing strategic options to shareholders and stakeholders. John has significant mergers and acquisitions advisory experience, including U.S. and cross-border sell-side and buy-side transactions, capital raising, restructuring and valuation and opinion services. John earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago, Booth School of Business, a Master's Degree in Accounting from the University of Illinois (graduating Magna Cum Laude), and Bachelor of Arts from Creighton University.
Wayne Meyer
COO, William Gabriel Automotive
Wayne’s illustrious career includes experience as a successful CEO for over 27 years, with responsibility as President and CEO, overseeing and leading the growth of two private Mega Dealer Automotive Groups, with business units located in the USA and Mexico, to outstanding levels of sales, market share, Customer satisfaction and profitability. Wayne carries deep experience with open point development, driving organic growth, and growth facilitated through acquisition. In June 2018, established MeyWay LLC, a business consulting practice, to share his knowledge and experience in the Automotive retail business, with a focus on planning and development, team building, leadership, and mentoring to Dealership management teams. Wayne earned his Bachelors in Accounting from the University of Witwatersrand, is an active board member of Vehicles for Change in San Diego, and is a proud husband, father of 2, and grandfather of 4.
Michael Lavin
Managing Director
Michael manages WGC’s prospect funnel and acquisitions, as well as works with managers within WGC’s portfolio companies to both understand & grow their businesses. Most recently, he has been leading growth initiatives within Triunity Automotive Group to drive profitability in a startup commercial business, drive customer retention in a mature luxury store, & help launch and sustain the #1 Jaguar Land Rover dealership in the United States. Prior to WGC, Michael developed his strategic & analytical capabilities as a Strategy Consultant, leading rapid revenue growth initiatives for a market leading electronic medical records company. Michael honed his capabilities in marketing & sales at Abbott Laboratories, leading physician messaging strategy and salesforce execution for a $300M brand. Michael earned his Bachelors in Economics from Bradley University, his MBA (marketing, analytics, innovation) from Indiana University, and is a graduate of NADA Dealer Academy.
Patrick Lavin
Investment Advisor
Patrick brings over 10 years of deep experience and expertise in Commercial Strategy and Operations, Marketing, Pricing, and Transformation. He has developed a track record of driving organic revenue growth in underperforming teams and businesses. Most recently Patrick has been leading Commercial Transformation on behalf of a large Private Equity firm. Prior to that Patrick led Sales Operations & Strategy at a global, publicly traded waste management company, building a high-performing team from the ground up and driving substantial revenue growth in perennially struggling Business Units. Patrick also gained valuable experience as a Strategy Consultant, working with numerous clients across a variety of industries to drive market leading revenue growth. Patrick earned a Master of Business Administration from the Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan, a J.D. from the Creighton University School of Law, and a Bachelor of Arts from the Catholic University of America.
